No diesel death zone!!!

huge warehouse project Proposed at
NorthEast corner of Redondo Beach Blvd and Vermont AveNUE in Harbor Gateway

Prologis is a publicly traded, multi-national real estate investment trust (REIT) with over 3 BILLION dollars in yearly revenue.

In 2017 Prologis applied for approval of the project from the City of Los Angeles to build a 340,298 square foot warehouse with 24-hour, seven day a week operation on the Harbor Gateway/Gardena border.

This facility would have the capacity for at least 768 diesel truck trips per day to and from the warehouse. Prologis does not operate these warehouses but after building them then leases them to operators like Amazon and other just-in-time delivery services. The site should have development that benefits the community. The Prologis warehouse development offers none. The community would be healthier with no changes to the current site than what is being proposed.

COMMUNITY COSTS - how we are asked to subsidize the profits of prologis

  1. breathing more polluted AIR

  2. being kept awake by Noise 24/7

  3. WORSE TRAFFIC in an already pinched major intersection

  4. A 53 foot tall EYESORE next to our only park

  5. NO new HOUSING, NO new SERVICES, NO more open space, NO guaranteed JOBS

The PROLOGIS warehouse will “draw significant new air pollution into the Harbor Gateway North community”

- State Attorney General Javier Becerra
